Train with Prof. Sebastián Ríos — Medellín's most decorated BJJ black belt — in the heart of El Poblado. World-class technique in South America's most dynamic city.
Sebastián Ríos began training BJJ in Bogotá at age 17 and relocated to Medellín in 2008 to train under regional legend Prof. Andrés Castaño. After earning his black belt in 2011, he founded Academia BJJ Medellín — the first dedicated BJJ school in El Poblado.
A three-time Colombian National Champion in his weight class, Prof. Ríos has competed at the Pan American Championships in Irvine and the World Masters in Las Vegas. He has produced over 40 competitors who have placed at national level.
His teaching philosophy balances technical precision with the warm, high-energy culture Medellín is known for. Classes are taught in Spanish and English.
Medellín has become one of the top destinations for digital nomads, long-term travelers, and adventurous tourists from across the world. El Poblado — our neighborhood — is the epicenter of that scene.
We see international practitioners every week. Whether you're here for a weekend or three months, the mat is open.
